A further update to your Torpedo Marine Life News bulletin for December
2004.

I confirm that the amberjack trawled by Andy Le Prevost on the
South-west Casquet bank to the west of Alderney, Channel Islands on 7
December 2004 was a Guinean amberjack, Seriola carpenteri.

Total length       39.3 cm
Fork Length        33.8 cm
Standard Length    30.7 cm

D1 VII  D2 I, 31
A1 II, A2 I,20
P1 I, 19  
P1 length 51.8 mm

D2 max fin height 53.9 mm

D2 fin height as percentage of fork length 5.39/33.8 = 15.9 %  
(For S. carpenteri percentage is 15-18%)
Ratio fin height to P1 length is 53.9/51.8 = 1.04

Gill raker count on both left & right side:  LL 17 + 1 rudiment UL 7 + 1
rudiment - total not counting rudiments is 24
